FAQ
Raw Honey
May I feed honey to my child under 1 year of age?
NO, honey (of any kind) should NEVER be given to a child under 12 months of age.
What makes your honey so unique?
Our honey is sourced straight from the hive and never heated, filtered, or chemically treated, retaining all of the important nutrients, enzymes, antioxidants, and pollen that make honey a true superfood.
Unlike processed honey available in stores, our premium honey maintains its full-bodied flavor, creamy texture, and natural goodness.
Our bees are never exposed to glyphosate or other dangerous pesticides, so each mouthful is as clean and pure as nature intended.
What do I do if my honey crystallizes?
Honey may crystalize at times. This is normal and does not alter the quality of the honey. Place your jar of honey in a bowl of hot water (not boiling) until the crystals dissolve.
What is Raw Honey?
Raw honey is unprocessed, unpasteurized, and lightly strained, retaining its natural enzymes, pollen, antioxidants, and minerals. It is collected directly from the hive and may contain trace amounts of propolis and other natural components. It is not heated or purified and may appear thicker and more opaque than processed honey.
What are the benefits of Raw Honey?
Honey is a natural sweetener high in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, which promote general health. It possesses antibacterial and anti-inflammatory qualities, making it useful for wound healing, sore throat relief, and immune system support. Honey also delivers a rapid energy boost and improves digestion by supporting good gut bacteria.
Can Raw Honey go bad, expire, or spoil?
No, raw unfiltered honey does not go bad if stored properly. Honey has a very long shelf life because of its low moisture content and strong acidity, which prevent bacterial and fungal growth.
However, over time, honey may undergo some natural changes:
- Crystallization – Honey naturally crystallizes, resulting in a thick and gritty consistency. This does not imply that the honey is ruined. To return it to a liquid form, gently heat it in a warm water bath (but not boiling).
- Color & Flavor Changes – Honey's color and flavor may change with time, but this does not indicate spoilage.
- Fermentation – Moisture exposure, such as incorrect storage or dilution, can cause honey to ferment and have a sour taste. **If this happens, avoid consuming it and discard it.
How do you store Raw Honey properly?
- Keep it in a sealed container to prevent moisture absorption.
- Store it at room temperature (ideally between 50-70°F / 10-21°C).
- Avoid direct sunlight and extreme heat.
If stored correctly, raw honey can last indefinitely while maintaining its quality!
Spreadable Creamed Honey
How is Creamed Honey made?
Our raw creamed honey is crafted by spinning it over a period of several days in small batches, preserving its raw goodness. The resulting finer crystals give it a smooth and luxurious texture, perfect for spreading.
How to use Creamed Honey?
Creamed honey is perfect for adding extra flavor to your favorite meal. It has a great spreadable consistency. Add it to your favorite drinks, breads, yogurts, and more.
How long does Creamed Honey last?
When stored properly, raw, unfiltered cream honey (also known as creamed honey or whipped honey) will not spoil.
Honey has natural preservatives, such as low moisture content and high acidity, which help prevent bacterial and mold growth.
It is best to use within 1-2 years for the best taste and texture.
However, there are several things to consider:
What Can Affect Its Quality?
- Moisture Exposure: If honey absorbs too much moisture (e.g., from humid air or an unsealed container), it can ferment and develop an off smell or sour taste.
- Temperature Fluctuations: Extreme heat (above 95°F or 35°C) can break down beneficial enzymes.
- Contamination: Introducing water, crumbs, or other food particles can lead to spoilage.
***If your creamed honey smells sour, has an alcoholic or yeasty scent, or tastes off, it might have fermented due to moisture exposure and should be discarded.
How to Store Cream Honey Properly
- Room Temperature (Best): Store between 50–70°F (10–21°C) in a dry, dark place.
- Sealed Container: Keep it tightly sealed to prevent moisture absorption.
- No Fridge Needed: Refrigeration can make it too solid and difficult to spread.
Otherwise, it's good to use for years!
